Body
Tattoos
Some
people want to cover their entire bodies with tattoo.
Regardless of the reasons for these actions, it is
evident that body art is significant for these people. If
you are one of them, go ahead and show your love for this
art through body tattoos.
Contrary
to what most people think, full body art did not
originate from modern circus performers and body
modification legends. Rather, these have been part of
many cultures throughout the history of men. In fact, as
seen in many movies, television shows and documentaries,
numerous ancient tribes practiced the art of tattooing.
Members of these tribes used to cover their bodies with
body art as proof of their allegiance to their tribe.
Furthermore, tattooing of bodies is a custom in ancient
Japan. This tattooing tradition was referred to as
irezumi which literally means “insert ink”. Throughout
Japanese history, tattoos have been transformed from
being a mark of tribal membership to a punishment for
convicted criminals. Members of the notorious Japanese
mob group, Yakuza, are said to have been required to
obtain tattoos for their entire body. So as not to call
too much attention on themselves, these body designs are
inked on body parts that can be easily concealed with
clothes.
At
present, a significant number of people want to cover
most of their bodies with body art. Some of these people
choose full body tats while others only combine the
individual tattoos that they had in the past. These
tattoos are usually inked on arms, back and chest. Since
these markings cover a larger part of the body, there is
also a higher risk for infections. In addition, to
minimize the risk of contacting diseases like HIV, AIDS,
Hepatitis B and C, and syphilis, customers should make
sure that the equipment and machines used by tattoo
parlors are sanitary and that hygienic procedures are
observed in these places.
Choosing
to have a body tattoo is a decision that should not be
made in haste. After all, these body markings are
permanent unless an expensive procedure is done to remove
them. Make sure that you will not come to regret having a
tattoo by choosing a body art design only after
conducting extensive research from all possible sources
of tattoo designs. The search for the perfect design
should not end with tattoo parlors. Alternative sources
of body art designs like websites and publications should
also be consulted. Furthermore, be mentally and
physically prepared to tolerate the pain that comes with
tattooing.
