1.      Look at a creative and well-promoted or hyped tattoo gallery. You can easily check out such portfolios at an Internet-based tattoo design shop or you could simply visit the shop of a tattoo artist.  

2.      Spend some time carefully assessing and analyzing good and interesting designs. Some tattoo art may look totally head turning but if you would spend some minutes staring at the design, you might suddenly realize that you are not excited to get it. Take particular attention to the minor details. 

3.      Before looking at a tattoo gallery, it would help if you would already set in your mind the design and color that you would love to take. Doing this would enable you to spare some precious time on the activity.
